I was so obsessed with Rachel’s (aka Pink Peonies) recent post on painting her powder room in a beautiful rich navy blue. I have always loved navy blue but I just never thought a blue color wall can look this gorgeous…even in the bedroom! Never be afraid of trying something different! I fell in love instantly with this beautiful room when I first saw it at Pottery Barn. Although some of the items are no longer available online, I have replaced them with some of my picks as alternatives. You can now mouse over to the picture above and click onto the little cross to find the links.
If you want minimal effort but looking for a more “dramatic” change. I suggest to paint your wall into a different color other than white.Try painting the center piece of your wall in a beautiful blue with this Sherwin William Paint! Then the next step is pretty much just trying to allocate your furnitures into the right spot!
An upholstered headboard makes the bed cozy from every angle. You can get this exact same headboard ( Lewis Headboard & Slipover ) from Pottery Barn here. Alternatively, you can also get this Addison Headboard instead if your room has lack of Colonial style.
As for beddings, you can go for anything with a coastal touch or in this case, a contrasting paisley print Penelope Organic Duvet Cover is as sophisticated as it is charming. Mix and match with this Whip Stitch Wholecloth Quilt to give your bed a cozy finish!
Blue goes with Metallics, and it also goes well with red! Get this Asian Floral Porcelain Vase to hold your flowers ( Faux Hydrangea Stem – Red ) ! Lamp is a must in the bedroom, I like this Carlotta Faceted Crystal Bedside Lamp Base from Pottery Barn! But if you want to glam up the whole room, go for a vintage gold color lamp! I really like this Fluted Table Lamp by William Sonoma. If you are feeling extra spendy, oh please do get this gorgeous Allegretto One-Light Table Lamp in Burnished Gold Leaf Finish. You won’t regret it.
Happy Independence day! I love blue and red and I will always be inspired by these beautiful colors. I hope you enjoy my bedroom inspiration of the day, this bedroom looks very serene. You can easily glam up the whole room with additional gold or bring down to minimal and modern with more silver. Blue vase and venetian mirror opt to bring in a touch of the classic.
