Ever since I found out that I’m pregnant, my skin has changed so much! I used to at least have one or two acne on my face no matter what I do. But somehow this baby has cleared up my skin! The downside is that I have never felt this dehydrated! My skin is always so tight and often gives me lots of blackheads when my face is not properly moisturized.

I have combination skin where my T-zone tends to produce more sebum and it almost always turn into blocked pores and giving me blackheads.

I have been buying the wrong products all these time as I always thought I had Combination / Dry. My skin is definitely not a dry skin type, it’s just very dehydrated.

I am so happy that I have FINALLY found a proper skin care routine that works so well for me! I have tried lots of products especially during pregnancy as you tend to be more careful when choosing your products.

At my early weeks, I try to stick with a simple regime and use natural organic products. This has really dried out my skin badly. Especially when I take a lot of hot showers, the steam makes my skin even more dehydrated.

I did it all wrong back then when I simply apply an oil based moisturizer. What I really needed was a moisturizing serum and everything water based! I couldn’t be happier with my recent La Mer purchase!

My Pregnancy Safe Skin Care Routine for Combination / Dehydrated Skin

Step 1

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

I first use this cleanser to wash my face in the morning, it’s an amino acid based hydrating cleanser. It’s a very gentle lotion like cleanser that doesn’t dry out your skin!

Step 2
Fresh Soy Exfoliating Scrub

I then use this exfoliating cream every morning to scrub away all the dead skin cells from the night before! This exfoliating cream is so mild, it doesn’t irritate your skin but also having actual beads in it that leaves your skin feeling renewed and smooth after!

Step 3

Kielh’s Iris Essence

Then I use this as my toner to prep my skin! Try to think of your skin as a sponge, it always promote better absorption for products you use after when your skin is well hydrated and damped.

Step 4

La Mer Revitalizing Hydrating Serum

Once my skin is prepped, I go straight into my serums. At first I was quite skepical about getting such expensive bottles from La Mer. But after just one use, I knew it was worth the money! The La Mer Revitalizing Hydrating Serum sinks in quickly and leave my skin plumped and glowy.

Step 5

La Mer Regenerating Serum

I love how effective this product is, and it helps with smoothing out any uneven texture especially those acne scars or blocked pores! I use the Regenerating Serum every night and it has a renewal effect in the morning. It does tighten your skin so it’s important to use together with the Revitalizing Hydrating Serum. It is a treatment serum and it’s safe for pregnancy as well! I noticed my old aged acne scar started evening out with just one use.

Step 6

Kielh’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer

Last but not least, I lock all serums in with a simple moisturizer during the day followed up with a sunscreen. This is the most basic and mild formula. It softens and moisturize your skin. At night, I will mix in the La Mer Renewal Oil to my moisturizer.

These products have really worked for me and I hope they will work out well for you too!
